This first one isn't so bad.
These next 3 though... well, they're a little rough!
Ok! This was a French beach after all... So, below I've edited the pictures to show you what I was actually taking pictures of. Oh, and in case you are wondering, why yes! I am a child! (Hahahahaha!!)
This was not a big flashy beach, it was rather small and private. That said, there were no changing rooms/cabanas around. So... a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to get some sun!
Oh wait, there are people around so maybe some modesty would be nice (plus, there is some dumb foreign chick taking selfies!).
Yeah! Screw that... ain't nobody got time for this wind. I'll just change fast, no one will notice!.
Oh, and for those of you who were wondering... yes. Yes, they do!
Ok, in all honesty I have to say this, while I am poking fun at these women you should know they totally have my respect! I have seen time and again that French women are very confident and do not have the same body image issues that we American's do. There were women of all ages and sizes on this beach and many of them were wearing bikini's. Women who would normally not think to go there at all here in the states. So rock on you awesome beach women! You're awesome!
Here are a few of the other pictures I took. Aunt Basia (pronounced Bah-sha) with the flowers.
The yummy pizza's we ate for lunch, hers (top) is a 4 cheese concoction, mine (bottom) was called 4 seasons. They were very yummy and I could not finish mine!
Basia getting her feet into the ocean.
Across from where we were there was a small harbor.
I got my feet into the ocean too!
After our time on the beach we headed back to the bed and breakfast and dinner was soon served. The menu is pictured below.
Above you will see the first course. It was a green salad with a few tomatoes and light dressing. It was served with a cup of kiwi topped with smoked salmon and an herbed cream. I didn't eat the salmon (though I did taste it and guess what... I still don't like it!).
The main dish was duck confit and a homemade ratatouille. The duck was interesting but VERY salty! By the time I went to bed I looked like I had Flintstone feet! I have generously spared you THAT picture! But I will say Bailey had some funny pictures texted to her that night!
I did not take a picture of the dessert which was just a simple fruit salad. I forgot to take the picture as I was anxiously trying to figure out if there was evil fruit in the cup. There was! Normally I would not touch the fruit but in my quest to be both polite and stay true to my "try it all" rule I spent the next several minutes figuring out what I could and could not eat!
Thanks for reading! Come back soon to read about the Music Festival, my next entry.
A plus tard!
